Make sure that the resident has a bed and a room assigned. Each Medication Cart has an assigned set of beds and rooms. When a new resident is added, put them in the bed and room associated with the Medication Cart you want them to be on.
Are there any future costs to MedRight for updates or upgrades after purchase?
No. All software updates and major upgrades are absolutely free, and there are no update disks or update hassles.
We are always making our software better and better, so we usually update monthly. You can keep track of releases, product announcements, and updates on our
Release Notes .
Are there manuals we can have or read?
There is excellent help for MedRight.
When using the MedPass Component (eMAR), select HELP and you will see lots of documentation and videos available to users.
When using the Administrative Web Portal (AWP), select HELP, and again, you will see lots of documentation and videos available to users.
Are you HIPAA compliant? Is my data encrypted?
Yes on both counts. We comply with all the requirements set forth in the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act of 1998. All data transmitted over the internet is encrypted using SSL 64-bit encryption technology. This is
according to standard best practices and compliance.
Absolutely. Simply plug the USB device into one of the available USB ports and away you go!
Can I use my phone to login into MedRight remotely?
The Administrative Web Portal (AWP) is a secure web page that can be accessed from anywhere there is internet available, but we do not suggest using your phone. Our graphical user interface is responsive but ONLY for 10" or greater size screens. We highly suggest using tablets with the Google Chrome Browser. Our favorite is the Kindle Fire 10" HD tablet. It is light, slips into a purse or handbag easily, and the HD gives a fabulous user experience.
The MedPass machine (MedCart machine) can also be used anywhere and, again, the graphical user interface is responsive but ONLY for 10" or greater size screens. Unlike the Administrative Web Portal (AWP), each MedPass machine must be registered.
Can our facility have our own assessments added to MedRight?
Yes, of course.
We have at least 25 different assessments in MedRight. However, if your facility has an assessment specific to your facility, we will add it to the assessments module. Send it to us and we will get it in for you quickly!
Can you do eScripting?
Yes, it costs $110.00 per prescriber annually, plus an eScripting cost of $600.00 annually for use of the API.
Does MedRight integrate with my pharmacy? Does MedRight require a pharmacy integration?
MedRight interfaces with multiple pharmacy packages. Since it's an ever changing list, just ask us about yours. Current pharmacy integrations are:
Framework LTC by Softwriters (2-way interface available)
PrimeCare LTC by QS1
RX30
ComputerRx
Prodigy
Any HIE
We can and will integrate with any pharmacy that has the ability to integrate.
No, MedRight does not require a pharmacy integration. You can use MedRight and enter all your own orders.
Does MedRight require the internet?
No. The architecture of MedRight allows the MedPass component ( the eMAR module) to run without internet. Due to ISP service interruptions or network congestion that nobody can control, MedRight was designed such that it does not require the internet. It can go several hours, even days, without internet connectivity.
When MedRight does have internet access, your data will automatically transfer and backup. We believe this true offline/online architecture is more robust and provides better performance all around.
How configurable or customizable is MedRight?
We designed MedRight to be extremely configurable. Configuring your own ER box, your own privacy log out times, your own Medication Pass times is nicely done with MedRight. There are literally dozens of settings you can customize and configure within MedRight for your facility.
For example, if you want a patient's diagnosis to print on the MAR or not print on the MAR is a configuration.
How long does the implementation of MedRight take in a facility?
We'd love to say minutes, but that's simply not true. Our experience is that it takes from 5 to 30 days to implement MedRight. We support your needs either way.
When you decide that you want to use MedRight, together we will create a specific implementation plan for your facility based on your desired timeline and the modules you will be using.
Each team, the facility and MedRight, will assign one or more people to the implementation team, and these people will work together, following the implementation plan until it is done. Our team will never leave your side until your implementation is completely done.
We are very experienced with implementations. We are confident that your implementation will be successful!
How long is my data stored?
As long as you need it. MedRight will keep your data, even if you no longer use MedRight, for as long as you need it stored and your server fees are paid.
How open are you to suggestions to custom additions to MedRight?
We are completely customer focused. We always listen to what the customer wants and needs. We are a high tech software firm, and our customers explain what they want, need, and require. Our great software and support teams makes it happen.
We believe we make our software better and better by listening to our customers. Our development feature list is customer focused. We tend to incorporate the most requested features first.

My keyboard is not working or my touchscreen is not responding. What do I do?
If your keyboard is not responding and/or the touch screen is not registering your touch, the only option is to try to restart the computer. Restart the computer through the Windows Start Menu (try not restarting the computer with the power button). If the restart does not work, there is likely a larger issue at hand. Contact your immediate supervisor about how to get replacement equipment.
My MedPass Machine broke! How do I replace it?
Quite easily. Simply swap out the MedPass machine with another one and register the MedPass machine through the Utilities->MedPass Machine Management feature.
My order is not in MedRight and/or my order is wrong. Can I change it?
If you are pharmacy driven, you can change everything about an order except the drug name, the drug frequency (Daily, BID etc), or the drug dose. If any of this is wrong on your order, please call your pharmacy and have them fix the order.
If you are facility driven, meaning you enter your own data, you can change anything you'd like about an order before it is activated. After activation, DC the order and enter it again.
My power cord is broken/not charging my laptop. What do I do?
If the power cord is not charging the laptop, you probably need to purchase a new power cord. In the meantime, here are a few tips:
Make sure all of the connections on the cord are snug
Try a different power outlet
Swap cords between medication carts
Ask your immediate supervisor if there is a backup computer you can borrow the power cord from until you receive the replacement.
CareRight Technologies, LLC. is not responsible for purchasing, fixing, or replacing your computer hardware. Your computer should be under warranty so ask your immediate supervisor how to get it fixed.
What hardware and software do I need to run MedRight?
MedRight is a complete web application, thus it only requires the Google Chrome Browser for software.
A high-speed internet connection is suggested which can be wired or wireless.
Minimum 8-10 down and 1-2 up is what we suggest.
Typically, a facility will have a laptop for every medcart in the facility. We suggest Google Chromebooks for the laptops.
A bar code scanner is recommended for safety but not required.
We have some facility's who use the Kindle Fire HD 10 for ADL tablets, but we support any tablet (Samsung Galaxy, Apple iPAD, etc.) that is 10" or greater and can use Google Chrome Browser for ADLs and the AWP.
Our Administrative Web Portal (AWP)runs on any computer in your facility using the Google Chrome Browser. Google Chrome is the browser of choice and what MedRight suggests facility's use because it is the supported browser.
What kind of Support do you offer?
We have excellent support.
We have a dedicated support phone that you may call between 6AM MST and 6PM MST, 7 days a week.
We have a
ticketing system that we guarantee response within 4 business hours that you should use anytime and between 6PM MST and 6AM MST
We provide support with a step by step customized implementation plan that we build specific to your facility. And we work together throughout the whole implementation and never leave your side until it is completely done!
What makes MedRight special?
People who use it love it! It does what it claims it does, and it's easy to use and learn. It is complete with everything your facility needs. Our training and support is simply outstanding. And of course, the cost is reasonable and in line with any other eMAR/EHR on the market, if not better.
Most amazingly, MedRight works offline if your internet is temporarily down and you do not have connectivity.
What Training do you offer?
We know that training is very important! We offer the following types of training:
On-site training for your whole staff with certified MedRight trainers
Online, web-based training for your whole staff through with certified MedRight trainers
MedRight University- self-paced video trainings
When I try to activate my order, it says to "Call Pharmacy" - why is this?
This is because MedRight does not know how to schedule this order. It has come from the pharmacy with a frequency we cannot schedule or have not yet mapped. Contact your pharmacy to resolve the issue.
Where is my data stored? Is it backed up? How long is it kept?
Your data is stored on one of our server farms located around the country. These servers are housed in secure data centers that offer world class speed, reliability, and security.
Your data is definitely backed up. At any given time, there are multiple copies of your data. The server farms provide real-time data duplication.
We keep your data for as many years required, depending on the latest data retention standards set forth by various regulatory agencies. HIPAA states that medical records must be retained at least six years, and at least two years after the death of a patient.
Who uses MedRight? Can it be used in my care facility?
We have care facilities from coast-to-coast that we support and that use our product(s). Some facilities have from 10-30 residents. Other's have hundreds. They include these types of homes:
Assisted Living
Residential Troubled Youth Homes
Correctional Institutions
Skilled Care
Addiction Treatment & Recovery
Intellectual & Developmental Disability
Other Information
A Resident is not showing on my Medication Cart?
